Why take part in IMS ?
The objectives pursued by the Institute for Societal Movement perfectly accompany the motivation of the Banque Degroof Luxembourg to concretely demonstrate its social responsibility through its activities. The different seminars organised by IMS Luxembourg, as well as the feedback and experiences of key actors in the Luxembourg area, help us with our choices and allow us to progress more efficiently in our involvement in matters of sustainable development.
Which place does Corporate Social Responsibility hold in your company ?
CSR is not a trend. Since always, the Degroof group has been concerned about the economic, social and environmental impacts of its activities.
During the construction of the new building on Eugéne Ruppert street in 2003, the environmental requirements were a focal concern.
In recent years, the growing anxiety concerning aspects endangering our planet has increased the Banque Degroof’s wish to integrate respect for the environment in to their activities more proficiently.
What are your CSR policies and frameworks ?
To channel its ideas in matters of CSR, Banque Degroof Luxembourg created a work group in 2008. This group comprises a dozen employees, all from different departments and attending voluntarily. The selected suggestions are communicated to the concerned departments (mainly Marketing, Research, HR and Logistics) and, after a study of opportunity, are submitted to the committee of the board for approval and disployment.
Our focal CSR frameworks are:
- Philanthropy
- The health of the employees
- Mobility and decrease of pollution
- Energy savings
- Waste separation and recycling
- The use of Fair Trade products
