Why take part in IMS ?
We have decided to take responsibility and make sustainable development a priority.
As IMS unites various key actors of Luxembourg’s economic sector that wish to evolve in terms of responsibility, it is an ideal forum of exchange and collaboration for us. We can make the most of this forum in terms of developing our activities in a responsible manner, whilst bringing our own input to the platform to help and inspire other IMS members. Realistically, we can only change things if we act together, as responsible corporations.
Which place does Corporate Social Responsibility hold in your company ?
We try to ascribe as much importance to social responsibility as to economic profit. We are certain that, in the long run, one will not exist without the other. For every one of our actions, we must not only consider the economic ROI, but also environmental, social and societal consequences. We are not there yet, but we want to achieve that goal.
The area in which we work – marketing and communication – allows us to extend our actions beyond the actual workings of our corporation. We aim to use our marketing tools to affect our economic and social environment, even at the level of the population, and to actively contribute to the development of a sustainable economy in respect of mankind and the planet.
What are your CSR policies and frameworks ?
Comed’s responsible approach focuses on the impacts linked with the workings of the agency, the ones connected with the fabrication of communication actions and, finally, those associated with the effects of communications actions.
Many things are currently changing at the level of the agency’s functioning: decrease of our use of paper through electronic messaging and archiving, reduction of our energy consumption by occupying less space and reducing the number of car trips, waste separation, ecologic choice of consumables, etc. An internal reorganisation has equally been carried out in order to increase our efficiency, whilst also creating a work atmosphere that is more convivial and enhancive….
At the level of the fabrication of communication activities, we always look for the most ecological solutions: choice of paper, printing formats and techniques, decrease of waste by targeting optimally…
Concerning campaign effects, we try (where possibly) to pass the message in favour of sustainable development, regardless of whether our clients are of social or of commercial occupation (the putting forward of ecological products, the promoting of and ecologically reasonable use of these products, etc.).
