IMS Luxembourg - Institut pour le Mouvement Sociétal

Our members

Why take part in IMS ?

Corporate Responsibility has been a vital ingredient in HSBC’s 140 years of success. We believe that long-term success and good corporate behaviour are linked. It is our aim to manage our business responsibly and sensitively because we realise that tomorrow’s success depends on the trust we build today. We are a global organisation, present in over 83 countries and territories worldwide. This presence affords us a unique opportunity to support the communities where we operate to make a real and lasting contribution to people’s lives and the environments in which they live. In Luxembourg, this is as true as it is anywhere else in the world. The stated aims and aspirations of IMS are closely linked to our own. We are keen to raise awareness in Luxembourg of what the HSBC brand stands for in the area of responsibility and sustainability, to share best practice with other actors in the same sphere and to intervene on a long-term basis to make a lasting difference.

Which place does Corporate Social Responsibility hold in your company ?

In Luxembourg, Corporate Responsibility is taking an increasingly important position within our business activities. Our Green Team endeavours to make our offices more environmentally friendly by the introduction of green measures and by educating our workforce. We are also involved with two local organisations – l’Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg and Hëllef fir d’Natur – and work in close cooperation with both of them to provide sustainable solutions in the realms of Education and the Environment.

What are your CSR policies and frameworks ?

75% of HSBC’s Corporate Responsibility activities are centred around Education and the Environment. By investing in Education, we seek to build the confidence and abilities of young people to become responsible and informed actors of their generation. In the environment, we are helping to tackle one of the world’s biggest environmental challenges, the climate change.
